Art Advisory Council
The Art Advisory Council holds the duty and responsibility to review public art enhancement throughout the City of Fairburn and to make recommendations on whether specific art enhances or benefits the city and/or community. The Art Advisory Council reviews for nonresidential and mixed-use properties.
Board of Appeals
Board of Appeals is an appointed body of the City Council of Fairburn. The Board is charged with the responsibility of hearing and deciding on stream buffer and flood plain variances.
Development & Downtown Development Authorities
The purpose of the Development Authority of Fairburn is to develop and promote for the public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities and to promote the general welfare within the City of Fairburn.
Main Street Board
The Main Street Board promotes the continued revitalization of Fairburn’s Downtown Historic Commercial district, adding to the arts and cultural affairs of the community and promoting local businesses as preferred retail. Moreover, the Board assists in cultivating traditional local experiences and supporting growth and development.
Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is charged with the responsibility of proposing plans, policies, and programs addressing the physical development and planning of the city.
South Fulton Municipal Regional Water & Sewer Authority
The South Fulton Municipal Regional Water and Sewer Authority is comprised of the cities of Fairburn, Palmetto, and Union City. The authority was established in 2000 by the Georgia General Assembly for the purpose of ensuring water supply needs for current and future residents of South Fulton County. The authority has been very forward-looking in predicting and meeting the water needs of its citizens.
