Council Member Linda J. Davis was elected in a special election in May of 2018 and works diligently to secure the best for Fairburn citizens. She has been a resident of the City of Fairburn for 24 years. Councilwoman Davis is a successful businesswoman, an inspirational speaker, a Certified Life Coach, a bestselling co-author of the book Unbreakable Spirit alongside Lisa Nichols, and a three-time gold medaled 100-meter dash recreational sprinter. Councilwoman Davis firmly believes in giving back to her community, and therefore has served on numerous boards, including Anchor, an organization that assists non-substance abuse homeless women and children; Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC); Advisory Council member to the late Dr. James Costen, former President of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC); Trustee of Shorter College located in Rome, Georgia; Human Resource Advisory Committee of the American Red Cross. She also served as President of the Frank Bailey Senior Center Advisory Council for three years. Councilwoman Davis completed her Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Mercer University in 2002. Continuing her studies on a full scholarship at Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology, she obtained a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education in 2005.
She enjoys reading, dancing, attending theatrical plays, acting, and competing in the Master's level 100-meter dash in her leisure time.
