City of Fairburn Finance Department Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The City of Fairburn’s Finance Department has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The City was awarded for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022.
“It has always been the City’s goal to show transparency in its financial position, indicating the financial health of the City for residents, businesses and the general public,” said Mayor Mario B. Avery. “To receive this award is proof that the City of Fairburn values excellence in financial reporting.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“I am very proud of the Finance team’s work preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report,” said Finance Director Bryan Stephens. “Our team takes pride in producing a report that is accurate and informative, and I am very fortunate to be a part of this group of finance professionals.”
