Are your energy bills higher than they should be? Do you suspect (or KNOW) that your home isn’t very energy-efficient? Do you have old energy-Inefficient appliances?

If you answered “Yes” to one or more of the above questions, you may qualify for our Weatherization program offered by Tallatonna.

The weatherization program offered by Tallatoona (A Community Action Partnership), is free and will aid citizens, with emphasis on seniors, with preventing energy loss or waste. They will correct the issues-by installing air sealing, insulation, and energy-saving appliances. Take a look below!

What is Weatherization?
Weatherization is the process of assessing your home (both structure and appliances) for energy loss or waste. If they find inefficiencies, then they take measures to correct the issues—by installing air sealing, insulation, and energy-saving appliances— using solutions that have the highest savings-to-investment ratios.

In most cases, the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy- efficient. The program also provides energy-efficiency education, along with addressing health and safety concerns. The WAP offered through Tallatoona CAP, Inc., serves the following counties: Bartow, Cobb, Floyd, Fulton, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding and Polk

Energy-efficiency measures performed through WAP include:

  • Whole house air sealing
  • Wall and attic insulation
  • Repair and cleaning of appliances known to cause create health and safety
    problems (e.g., carbon monoxide emissions)
  • Heating-system improvements
  • Efficiency improvements in lighting
  • Health and safety measures, such as the installation of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Water-saving measures

At this time, weatherization services DO NOT include the addition of porches or stairs, the replacement of doors and windows, or the installation of storm windows, storm doors or screens.

*Please note: Decisions to apply weatherization measures are made on a case-by-case basis, using a variety of factors, and the application of any single weatherization measure is not guaranteed
