Planning and Zoning Department Mission

The mission of the Planning and Zoning Department is to promote quality and sustainable growth and development in the community by ensuring that land use and development proposals are compatible with the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Code of Ordinances, and various planning studies and initiatives. 

 Planning and Zoning Department Purpose

The purpose of the Planning and Zoning Department is to provide planning, preservation, and design services to make Fairburn the most livable city in the country. The City of Fairburn is committed to improving the experience of residents, small businesses, developers, and other stakeholders needing these services. The department has undergone an extensive process to lay the groundwork to make necessary changes for Fairburn's future.

The Planning and Zoning Department goal is to make the City of Fairburn a pleasant place to live, work, and play, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors.
