STUDENT ART & ESSAY CONTEST GUIDELINES
We are excited to announce the 2021 Georgia Cities Week Student Art & Essay Contest. As our nation is experiencing a plethora of challenges, we believe that Fairburn students have shown a resiliency that demonstrates the strength of the educational system. This year’s essay and art contest will focus on the theme: The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic: What it Means to Me.
Essay Guidelines:
There are three categories of judging according to grade levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School.
- One overall grand prize winner will be selected, in addition to one winner per grade level.
- High school (grades 9-12) and middle students (6-8) must submit a 2-page essay of no more than 800 words.
- Elementary school (K-5) will submit artwork as a painting, sketch, drawing, or craft representing their expression of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Acceptable submission formats include scanned copies of the art and pictures of the completed artwork. Teachers may assist elementary school applicants with the submission of their artwork.
- Students or a family member must be present at the Leaders In Education event to be eligible to win.
