Her homegoing service, held at 11 a.m., was a powerful tribute to her enduring impact on the community she loved and served.

The City of Fairburn is taking a significant step in public safety with the launch of Fairburn Safe, a new initiative designed to strengthen community security and emergency response. At the core of this program is the Real-Time Crime Center, which equips first responders with advanced technology to improve emergency preparedness, assist in evidence collection, and enable faster, more efficient responses to crimes and emergencies.

The City of Fairburn is proud to unveil its new Little Libraries initiative, a program designed to foster literacy and community connection through free book exchanges. Strategically located at three convenient sites—Mario B. Avery Park, Fairburn Youth Center, and Frankie Arnold Stage and Courtyard—these charming book-sharing boxes allow residents of all ages to drop off or pick up books at their leisure.

The City of Fairburn City Council has unanimously approved an amendment to increase the Homestead Exemption for residents who are 70 years of age and older and for disabled residents. This amendment, effective January 1, 2025, provides a significant financial benefit to eligible homeowners by offering an exemption on $30,000 of the assessed value of their primary residence.

The City of Fairburn is expanding its youth sports programming with the addition of a new soccer initiative. After the recent approval of a facility usage agreement between the Parks and Recreation Department and Kids with Goals Futbol Club, youth soccer will be offered at Duncan Park’s Baseball Field #6 (lower baseball field), located at 6000 Rivertown Road, Fairburn, GA 30213.
