The City of Fairburn is expanding its youth sports programming with the addition of a new soccer initiative. After the recent approval of a facility usage agreement between the Parks and Recreation Department and Kids with Goals Futbol Club, youth soccer will be offered at Duncan Park’s Baseball Field #6 (lower baseball field), located at 6000 Rivertown Road, Fairburn, GA 30213.

The Fairburn Police Department has been recognized by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) for achieving State Re-Certification. This prestigious recognition places the Fairburn Police Department among Georgia's top-tier law enforcement agencies.

The City of Fairburn has been selected as one of the six cities and one county in Georgia to receive a substantial grant from the federal Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced in June that Fairburn will receive $1,008,000 in funding, part of over $29 million awarded to Georgia projects and among 148 projects funded nationwide in 2024.

The City of Fairburn Police Department will host National Night Out (NNO), a nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fairburn Park & Ride at 8100 Senoia Road, Fairburn, GA 30213.
